On 21 July 2020, #WEO team headed by Mrs. Suzan Aref held the first meeting with the gender equality policy development committee in the Ministry of Justice – #KRG, with the participation of the head of the committee (Judge Abdulrahman Swely, Director General of the Ministry of Justice) and 15 committee members representing all of the ministry’s institutions. The aim of the meeting was to agree on the joint action mechanism towards developing a #gender_equality policy within the institutional framework of the ministry, in addition to defining the roles and responsibilities of each member within the committee. Moreover, WEO will hold online workshop training on 26 July for the committee members on the mechanism of policy development.
