Growing Stronger: Advancing Climate-Smart Agriculture for Resilient and Inclusive Communities in Southern Iraq: Dhi Qar

Women Empowerment Organization (WEO), in partnership with CARE Iraq and WHH, is implementing the project “Growing Stronger: Advancing Climate-Smart Agriculture for Resilient and Inclusive Communities in Southern Iraq: Dhi Qar”. As part of this initiative, WEO conducted five awareness sessions exploring how the impact of climate change and its environmental effects relate to community conflict resolution mechanisms. These sessions targeted tribal leaders, community police, CSOs, stakeholders, and female farmers across multiple locations, including Al-Gharraf, Al-Shatra, Al-Diwaniya, Suq Al-Shuyukh, and Al-Nasiriyah. Each session promoted social cohesion and peaceful coexistence in rural communities experiencing the combined pressures of climate change and economic challenges. By fostering dialogue and trust among community members, the sessions introduced practical, culturally appropriate approaches to resolving community-level disputes peacefully and sustainably.
