From November 2nd to November 10th ,2025
Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) in collaboration with the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and the Youth and Sports Center in Erbil, successfully organized the six community outreach campaigns in Erbil center, Kaznazan, Bahirka, Halabja Center, and Khurmal under the “Empowering Women for Electoral Participation and Leadership in Erbil and Halabja” project, with funding provided by Women for Women International (WfWI), supported by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The campaigns aimed to raise awareness about the importance of women’s participation in elections and how to participate in voting. More than 600 participants from rural women, marginalized communities, and local leaders attended the outreach campaigns in Erbil and Halabja.
