Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) held the Final Project Learning & Showcase Event for
“Sustainable Climate Dialogues: Empowering Women for a Resilient Future” in Baghdad.
The project was implemented in collaboration with with the Ministry of Environment and the
Promoting Dialogue and Participation in Iraq Project (PDP), funded by the German Federal
Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by the Deutsche
Gesellschaft fürInternationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
Together, we worked to enhance women’s participation in climate adaptation strategies,
build capacities, foster dialogue between government and civil society, and support community-led advocacy
initiatives and policy recommendations in Basra and Dhi Qar.
This event marked the culmination of joint efforts to promote inclusive, equality-responsive, and socially just climate policies in Iraq.
