Internews, in partnership with Women Empowerment Organization, has recently organized a consultative session in Erbil, among the Open Iraqi Initiative on the Gender-Responsive Budget and its impact on the role of women in politics.
Furthermore, Thorough debates took place for the sake of proposing such law regarding the "Gender-Responsive Budget” with Kurdistan Regional Government’s representatives from the relevant ministries, in addition to specialists in this regard from academics and media professionals, which in turn would benefit women and involve them in decision-making mechanisms.
It would also be worth noting that the session had been concluded with reporting several suggestions and recommendations that will be submitted to the higher decision-making cores in order to achieve the main objective behind this session.
