During the month of April, Women Empowerment Organization team held 4 training workshops at the Najat community Centers in Mosul and Tal Afar about gender-based violence during COVID-19 pandemic and the principles of safe referral for women. The training was provided for the community leaders from different areas of Mosul and Tal Afar targeting 62 local leaders (29 women, 33 men) (teachers, school principals, volunteers, civil activists, religious leaders, traffic officers, businessmen, and mukhtars). The training aimed at building the capacity of local actors to prevent and mitigate GBV and protection risks to ensure easy access and safe referral of women and girls to GBV services during the response to COVID-19 pandemic.”
