Women Empowerment Organization (WEO), in partnership and funded by Tearfund, concluded the project “Empowering Women for Climate Resilience in Dhi Qar” by organizing a final event to introduce and operationalize the Climate Change Advocacy Toolkit. The event aimed to strengthening stakeholders’ understanding, collaboration, and commitment to effectively implement and disseminate the toolkit for inclusive and impactful climate advocacy. The event was attended by various stakeholders from government entities, including representatives from the Governorate office of Dhi Qar, Directorate of Agriculture, Directorate of Environment, local community leaders, Civil Society Organizations, volunteer groups and many more.

During the event, Ms. Suzan Aref received a letter of appreciation on behalf of WEO from the Governor’s Office in Dhi Qar, and a token of appreciation from the Women’s Affairs Department in the governorate, recognizing the organization’s sustained efforts in addressing climate change at the local level, its strong collaboration with governmental institutions, and its dedicated engagement in promoting community-based climate resilience initiatives across the governorate.
