On January 15th, 2026, Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) completed 40 days “Cash for Work” activity in Rania under the Employment Prospects for Socio-economic Integration (EPSI) project for refugees, IDPs, returnees, and host communities in Iraq project. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
This activity supported the rehabilitation of the Rania Youth and Sports Center activities, which included the planting of 150 trees of three different species, installation of water pipes to ensure proper irrigation, wall painting, and installation of curtains in the main hall. The Center is a key social cohesion space that plays an essential role in engaging community members—particularly youth and women—and providing a safe and supportive environment for their development.
