On December 10th, 2025, the Women for Peace Network (WPN) and the Iraqi Women Network (IWN) organized a coordination event, titled
“Strengthening Advocacy Capacities and Empowering Women’s Networks for the Effective Implementation of the Women, Peace, and
Security Action Strategy in Iraq.” The event brought together women’s organizations, NGOs, and experts to exchange experiences,
strengthen coordination, and discuss advancing Iraq’s Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Action Strategy, drawing on the 2024 Regional
Index and the National Study on Violence Against Women and Girls in Iraq. The event was organized under the project “Strengthening Women’s
Civil Society Organizations Working on the Implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine,”
implemented by EuroMed Feminist Initiative in partnership in Iraq with Women Empowerment Organization in Iraq and funded by the Support Fund for
Feminist Organisations of agence française de développement and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
