Women Empowerment Organization (WEO), in partnership with Tearfund, is raising awareness on climate change in Dhi Qar through the “Empowering Women for Climate Resilience in Dhi Qar” project. WEO is delivering awareness sessions in 10 girls’ high schools using interactive presentations and simple educational materials that help students understand climate change and adopt small, practical actions in their schools and communities. The initiative also includes school-based tree-planting campaigns to encourage students to contribute directly to a greener environment.
These activities are implemented in collaboration with the Directorates of Environment, Education, and Agriculture in Dhi Qar. We were honored by the presence of key governmental representatives during the sessions, whose participation highlighted the importance of collective efforts to promote climate awareness among young students.
