Women Empowerment Organization conducted the “second coordination meeting for the actors working on Women, Peace, and Security agenda in Iraq “, through the Zoom platform. Supported by the programme “Strengthening the Participation of Women in the Rehabilitation and Peace Process in Iraq” of Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (#GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Government. The project goal is to establish a coordination mechanism among the WPS actors on different levels to enhance the effort and to better follow up the implementation of the Women’s Peace and Security Agenda in Iraq.
The meeting was attended by members of the Iraqi Parliament and Kurdistan Regional Parliament members, representatives of ministries and government institutions from the Federal Government and Kurdistan Regional Government, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and international and local organizations.
